Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains how personal information is collected and used when you visit www.fayrekehoe.com, contact me, subscribe to my newsletter or buy a signed book through the Have Courage & Bee Kind Store, part of Have Courage & Bee Kind Press.

Depending on how you use the website, the information collected may include:

Contact information: Your name, email address and anything you choose to share when you contact me or subscribe to updates.
Order and delivery details: Your name, postal address, email address, telephone number where supplied for delivery, the books ordered, personalisation instructions and order history.
Customer service information: Messages, correspondence and, where relevant, photographs provided to help resolve a damaged or faulty order.
Payment and transaction information: Payment status, amounts, payment references and refund information. Payments are processed through the secure checkout and payment providers used by Wix. I do not directly collect or store full payment-card details.
Website and technical information: Details such as IP address, device or browser information, site activity and cookie preferences, where collected by Wix and any enabled website tools.

You may browse much of the website without supplying your name or contacting me. Information needed to process an order, such as delivery details, is necessary to fulfil that purchase; without it I may not be able to complete the order. Newsletter subscriptions are optional.

Personal information is used for the following purposes and on the following lawful bases under UK data protection law:

Orders and customer service (contract): To process payments, prepare personalised and signed books, arrange deliveries, provide order updates, and deal with cancellations, returns or other order issues.

Enquiries, security and business administration (legitimate interests): To respond to messages, investigate payment or delivery problems, help prevent fraud, maintain website security and manage the business responsibly. These interests are balanced against your rights and expectations.
Newsletters and book updates (consent): To send author news, new releases, special editions and shop announcements where you have chosen to subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in an email or by contacting me.
Optional cookies and analytics (consent where required): To understand website use and improve the site where optional tracking is enabled and the necessary permission has been given.

Buying a book does not automatically subscribe you to my marketing newsletter. Essential order confirmations and delivery messages are separate from marketing emails.

I do not sell customer or subscriber information to advertisers.

Information may be shared with service providers only where it is needed to operate the website, process an order or deliver the service you requested. These may include:

Wix, which hosts the website and store and provides website and order-management systems.

Royal Mail and relevant overseas postal operators, delivery partners and customs authorities, which may need names, addresses, contact details, parcel information and customs declarations.
Printing or fulfilment partners, where information is needed to prepare or resolve an order.
Mailchimp, which is used to manage newsletter subscriptions and send author updates.
Technical and professional service providers, where reasonably necessary for website support, accounting or legal obligations.

Providers process information according to their roles, terms and applicable data protection obligations. Information may also be disclosed if required by law.

4. International Deliveries and Transfers

If you order a book for delivery to the United States or Canada, the relevant shipping information will be provided to Royal Mail, overseas delivery partners and customs authorities as necessary to deliver and clear the parcel.

Some digital service providers, including website and email-platform providers, may store or process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data protection rules require safeguards for international transfers, the appropriate legal transfer arrangements must apply, such as an adequacy regulation or an approved contractual safeguard. If you subscribe to my newsletter, your email address, and any name or preferences you provide, are used to send you updates about my writing, books and HCBK Press.

Newsletters are managed using Mailchimp. Each marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time without affecting an existing order or the essential messages needed to fulfil it.

Limited information may be retained after you unsubscribe where necessary to record and respect your preference not to receive further marketing.
