Every Tale Begins with a First Step: An Introduction to My Dark Romantasy

My name is Fayre Kehoe, and I write dark romantasy filled with fated mates, divine prophecies, court intrigue, and slow-burning love. At the heart of my writing lies one guiding belief: bonds are earned on both sides, never forced. Desire grows with trust, and love is at its most powerful when it is both dangerous and transformative.

A Journey into Fantasy

For as long as I can remember, stories have been my way of escaping into something larger than myself. Fantasy has always been my first love. The Hobbit opened the door, and The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Twilight, and later the works of Sarah J. Maas and Carissa Broadbent carried me deeper into worlds full of magic, wonder, and love.

I grew up in a creative family that encouraged me to write. My earliest stories were scribbled in German. These days, I write in English, weaving together everything I love most about romantasy: a morally grey king, a smart and defiant heroine, soul-deep bonds, and characters to fall in love with.

The Birth of a New Story

For a time, I was working on an entirely different story set in my world of Sylvaeren. Yet without the depth of lore and history to hold it together, I found myself stuck. That was when the idea struck: what if I set that project aside and wrote something smaller, wilder, and unabashedly fun? A short, novella-style tale centred on a feral mating bond, brimming with steamy scenes and little concern for polish.

That playful experiment became Starbound: A Sylvaeren Origins Story. What began as “porn with plot” quickly grew into my most ambitious project yet. Elowyn and Aeron refused to remain a side diversion. They demanded a history, more plot, and a prophecy vast enough to hold them. Somewhere along the way, the tale became a trilogy.

The Art of Storytelling

This space is where I will share what I love about storytelling: the art of weaving together imagination, intimacy, and myth. Each character, each twist, each moment is crafted with care. I believe that stories are not just told; they are felt. They resonate within us, echoing our own desires and fears.

Fionn has insisted on curating the letters himself. True to form, he is rarely serious for more than three lines at a time. Expect wit, charm, unsolicited opinions, and perhaps a few secrets he should not be sharing (much to Aeron’s and Tirian’s despair).

Fionn Lodrien

Fionn is the King’s Second and a source of mischief. His charm and wit bring a lightness to the darker themes of the story. He is a character you will love to follow.

Tirian Velarion

Tirian is a steadfast ally. His loyalty runs deep, and he plays a crucial role in the unfolding drama of Sylvaeren.

The Heart of Sylvaeren

The world of Sylvaeren is rich with lore. It is a tapestry woven with threads of magic, love, and conflict. Each character adds depth to this universe, creating a narrative that is both engaging and immersive.
